Keith Wrightson

Keith Wrightson teaches early modern history at Yale University. He received his Ph.D. from Cambridge University in 1974 and previously taught at the Universities of St. Andrews and Cambridge. Besides Ralph Tailor’s Summer, featured on Rorotoko, he is the author of English Society, 1580-1680 (1982) and Earthly Necessities: Economic Lives in Early Modern Britain (2000), and, with David Levine, of Poverty & Piety in an English Village: Terling 1525-1700 (1979) and The Making of an Industrial Society: Whickham, 1560-1765 (1991). Since 1996, Keith Wrightson has been a Fellow of the British Academy.
