Watenpaugh, Heghnar



Heghnar Zeitlian Watenpaugh is Professor of Art History at the University of California, Davis. An expert in the art and architecture of the Middle East, her research interests include architectural preservation, museums, and cultural heritage. She is the award-winning author of The Image of an Ottoman City: Architecture in Aleppo (2004). Her writing has also appeared in the Huffington Post and the Los Angeles Times, and she was featured in a BBC series about cultural heritage destroyed during the current conflict in Syria.
